Where to Eat Vegetarian Food in Bangkok

Bangkok is such a foodie haven and if you’re looking for vegetarian recommendations in Bangkok, you’ve come to the right place. One of my most searched terms, whenever we are heading to a new city is, ‘the best vegetarian restaurants in...‘ Well you can thank me later. Because we did the leg work. Tough gig I know. So, if you didn’t know I have been a vegetarian since I was 21 and basically I make it my mission when I visit a new place to hit up all the raved about veggie hot spots.

As you can imagine, Bangkok’s food scene is pretty awesome and there is so much choice for vegetarians in the Thai capital. Anyhow, I think the photos speak for themselves really, but I’ll leave the name and address of the restaurant and what we ordered, so that you know what’s what and I hope you too, enjoy eating your vegetarian-way around BKK.

Brocolli Revolution

Broccoli Revolution, Bangkok (Where to Eat Vegetarian)
899 Sukhumvit 49 | Khlong Tan Nuea, Bangkok 10110

First up, I’ve got to recommend Broccoli Revolution. This Vegan restaurant was probably my favourite! The food is delicious, the decor is snazzy and the menu is plentiful, with dishes ranging from near and far. I went for the Chia Seed Pad Thai and Josh went for a Vietnamese rice noodle and tofu dish. FYI those Split Pea Fritters in the middle – we could have eaten them three times over!

Bonita Cafe & Social Club

Bonita Cafe & Social Club - Bangkok Vegetarian
100 Soi Pramote Silom Road, Bang Rak, Silom, Bangkok 10500

Now, if I told you that you could find a great vegan club sandwich in Bangkok would you believe me? Well, this adorable little cafe in the heart of the city serves up just that. Big portions and an entirely vegan menu. As you can see I went for the club sandwich as I had read sooo many good things and Josh went for the equally delicious Teriyaki burger plate.

After You Dessert Cafe

After You Dessert Cafe - Siam Paragon - Bangkok
Siam Paragon Shopping Center, 991 Rama I Rd |  Khwaeng Pathum Wan, Khet Pathum Wan, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon 10330, Bangkok

There are several branches of this delicious dessert chain. Not strictly vegetarian or vegan – just simply serves heaven on a plate. We came across ‘After You’ on our first visit to Thailand in 2014, which may have involved us hopping on various metros around the city in chase of a ‘toblerone waffle dish’ that I had seen on a poster… Anyway I digress, not the cheapest, but sure is it worth it. We visited the one in the Siam Paragon centre and I went for the strawberries and cream toast and Josh the sticky toffee and if we had the budget we’d have been back.

Saras Veg Food

Saras Veg Food - Vegetarian Bangkok
Sukhumvit Soi 20 | Klong toey, Bangkok 10110

If like us you were craving a curry, then Saras will not disappoint. I will warn you though, it is perhaps a stretch on the old backpacker budget. Nevertheless, we would both argue it was worth it. Order and pay for your food at the front desk, grab a table and wait for your food. We definitely over ordered with a Paneer Dosa, Rajasthani Thali and a Paneer Butter Masala but we weren’t gonna let the food go to waste and it was extremely delicious.

May Veggie Home

May Veggie Home - Vegetarian Bangkok
8/3 Sukhumvit 16, Ratchadapisek Road | Klongtoei, Bangkok 10110

I’ll openly admit our little veggie food mission in Bangkok, was mainly to curb the cravings we were having for veggie food we know and love in the UK after 2 months backpacking. It worked. May Veggie Home has an extensive menu with so many options, but I’d read about the mock ‘chicken’ burger and my heart was set on it. I mean can I say it doesn’t come close to my beloved Temple of Seitan, but it was pretty damn good all the same. On our next visit to Bangkok I will definitely have to try the Massaman curry or the pineapple fried rice!

Walee Vegetarian

Walee Vegetarian - Siam Paragon - Bangkok
991/1, Rama I Rd | Siam Paragon Shopping Center, level G Foodcourt, Bangkok, 10330

If you are looking for a cheap and tasty meal – Walee Vegetarian is the one. This little gem is located at stall number 22 in the food court of Siam Paragon. Make sure you put some money on a foodcourt card before you order as they don’t accept cash or Visa etc. Most of the dishes contain a mock meat substitute and you can add as much or as little spice as you like. I went for a BBQ ‘pork’ noodle soup and Josh for the ‘Duck’ noodle soup. Both meals and a two drinks came to just under £5.00, winner!

Veganerie

Veganerie - Bangkok
991, Rama I Rd | Siam Paragon, Ground Floor, Bangkok 10330

I think the photo does Veganerie more than enough justice. Looking for a delicious vegan breakfast, brunch, dessert or just some bakery goodness? Veganerie has you covered. Writing this is making me so hungry. Josh will always pick the savoury option if there is one and the ‘pulled pork’ waffles were super tasty and mine was just the sugar rush I needed. Again I think there’s several branches across Bangkok but, surprise we visited the ‘Soul’ branch in Siam Paragon.

Suananda Vegetarian Garden

Suananda Vegetarian Restaurant - Bangkok
109/9 Thanon Pan, Silom 10500 | Suananda Ayurveda Wellness, Bangkok 10500

Not a restaurant we had planned to go to, but I’m glad we did as the food setting and service at Suananda was brilliant. Suananda serves home cooked fresh and healthy vegetarian meals. Josh tried the Ayurvedic Set Menu which changes daily and I went for the falafel and pitta plate.

So, there we go. I honestly enjoyed eating at all of the above and just wanted to put this little guide together for anyone else searching for the best veggie spots in Bangkok.

Have you been to Bangkok? Have you got any recommendations that I haven’t included? Or, if you do go and do eat at any of the above let me know what you think in the comments.

Thank you for reading, Abbie x
